Maharishi London

Founded in 1994, London-based streetwear brand Maharishi is synonymous with counterculture. In 2021, ACA was commissioned to reimagine its four-floor Soho flagship, originally designed by Francoise Scali. The redesign addressed functional and spatial shortcomings while enriching the store’s immersive atmosphere. Inspired by 1990s sound systems and brutalist architecture, new display fixtures in oiled black MDF wrap the space. Black metal rails and olive green walls create contrast and visual depth. A shimmering metallic till anchors the ground floor, while a tall glass vitrine displays accessories. A sparse shopfront with digital screens enhances street visibility. Plywood flooring reveals unique textures, and pressed bamboo lines the entrance, echoing the brand’s connection to nature and innovative material use.
